About Me.

I’m Janet, a 50-something dog lady, published romance author, certified editor, book shop owner, and avid reader!

My love of reading started at a very young age when I read my first romance novel.

Growing up out in the middle of nowhere in a small town, books were my escape.

A place to go when the world sometimes got to be too much, books were a comfortable haven that took me to faraway places for exiting adventures!

When I was older, I pursued my dream of becoming a writer, and as my writing journey progressed, many of my author friends began asking me to read, edit, and review their books for them and I found myself discovering new and exhilarating genres and wonderfully written books by some great authors!

And then one day, a good friend suggested that, because of my love of books, I open my own book shop. As that's always been a dream of mine, I was all in!

And that's how The Country Lane Book Shop was born!

Reading a good book is something that can bring so much joy and pleasure, and with this blog, I hope to give some vision and insight into some of my favorite authors, and help avid readers like myself discover their next great read!
